AMARANTHE (formerly AVALANCHE) — the new project featuring Olof Mörck (NIGHTRAGE, DRAGONLAND), Jake E (ex-DREAM EVIL, DREAMLAND), Andy Solveström (WITHIN Y, EVILDOER, CIPHER SYSTEM), Morten Lowe Sorensen (THE ARCANE ORDER, SUBMISSION) and Johan Andreassen (ex-ENGEL) — has completed work on its as-yet-untitled debut album at Hansen Studio in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, MERCENARY, NIGHTRAGE) for a spring 2011 release via Spinefarm Records.
Commented guitarist Olof Mörck: "After two long months in Danish exile away from our homes in Sweden, we have now reached that magical milestone where we can consider this album finished! It means no rest for us, however, with videos to be recorded and all that stuff, plus, more importantly, [plans to] kick off the new year with a headline show in Gothenburg, on to Tunisia and Belgium later [in 2011] — plus another 18 shows in 13 countries to be announced soon! Don't miss AMARANTHE when we come to YOUR town in 2011!"
AMARANTHE vocalist Elize Ryd was selected to fill the female singer spot on KAMELOT's last European tour.
Mörck previously stated about the band: "AMARANTHE has for long been an idea between me and Jake E to break out of the mold of our past projects and create something new and fresh entirely and to give room for ideas not appropriate for the other acts and projects we are part of. The result is an onslaught of soaring melodies, heavy riffing and guttural screams from the netherworld, a result of having three singers in the band; Jake E on clean vocals, cabaret virtuoso Elize on female vocals and Andy on screams. The result is a quite distinct sound, especially combined with the music itself that draws upon influences from a varied spectrum of genres, all to create a thrilling experience for the listener. Another defining feature of AMARANTHE is the idea of a collective — everyone from superstars of the industry to just generally talented people will lend their unique skills to AMARANTHE on the coming album. This, however, won't stop AMARANTHE from being a tour de force in live shows and tours, since the core of this metal machinery is based primarily on the regular members."

Upstate, N.Y. solo artist FRANK PALANGI, whose music ranges from acoustic rock to heavier flavors, has released his first single in August of this year entitled "I'M WAITING". A mainstream rock version over the original solo version he recorded in his home studio previously. Frank headed into the Nashville, Tennessee studio in 2010 with record producer ROGERS MASSON. He secured the Grammy nominated rock band DAY OF FIRE (featuring former lead singer of FULL DEVIL JACKET, JOSH BROWN) and toured with bands such as DAUGHTRY and NONPOINT. Rogers says, "This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer JOSH BROWN, Frank's songs are going to turn out amazing."
Working as a solo artist who performs, creates and writes his own music has been a blessing for him. He explains...
"Over the past months I've just been blessed with all the things that are happening in my life. I've released my new single "I'M WAITING" and have been getting great feedback, press write-ups, worldwide internet and local and national FM radio play. Talking with the people I've been emailing and calling has been awesome! From college kids my age to people that are over 50 that have a strong passion for music. It's great to do all these interviews because it's prep for the future and getting more experience makes you better. Through hard work, passion and the will not to give up, I can't believe have many opportunities are coming up. You notice it in certain areas like getting an email about wanting to add the track to a station, getting fans that request the tracks on the stations, or doing an interview."
Recording this new version brings the track into the mainstream. It deals with someone who you care about, who is going down a bad path in life and your waiting and praying for them to get back on track. Frank wants to get his original music out there as much as he can to whomever he can. He even decided to try out for AMERICA'S GOT TALENT this coming season. He's received an interview by JASON SAULNIER of PURE ROCK RADIO's "GOOD TIME METAL OLDIES" radio show and podcast. Jason has done extensive write-ups and interviews with band members from RATT, OZZY OSBOURNE, QUIET RIOT, JUDAS PRIEST and TONS more. It will be released in the near future.
Frank's constant playing, writing and recording are signs of his passion for music. Something he believes is required for someone to be truly accomplished as a musical artist. If you want to play music, it must be a passion and a drive. Recording with a professional band and producer has heightened Frank's awareness of the industry and the will to succeed. "This business is a tough one, but this is what I want to do the rest of my life. No plan B in my mind."
FRANK PALANGI's future EP release is planned for 2011 sometime, and is currently in production.

THE NEW BLACK — the German band featuring members of SINNER, RUNAMOK, ABANDONED and MCF — will release its sophomore album, "II: Better In Black", on January 28, 2011 in Europe via AFM Records.
Check out the cover artwork below.
THE NEW BLACK has released a new song from "II: Better In Black" as part of a three-track digital EP. "The King I Was" is available on iTunes and Amazon and features the following track listing:
01. The King I Was (new song)
02. Simplify (live)
03. The Man Who Saw The Universe (acoustic)
Commented the band: "'The King I Was' is one of our favorites of 'II: Better In Black', with all the good stuff we like: heavy riffs, magic hooklines and shredding guitars. To give you something more alongside the new tune, we dug out two rare version of songs from the debut.
"'Simplify' has been played at almost every show since the band started, but this version is special: It was recorded in Wacken in 2010, when we — deprived of sleep, but high on adrenaline — attacked the tent stage like a overheated godzilla. Most of the performance couldn‘t exactly be called 'subtle,' but it definitely had some attitude, and this is what counts. Maybe that‘s why we pulled out a little blues jam at the beginning. After all, the working title of this song was 'ZZ Pussy' years ago...
"'The Man Who Saw The Universe' comes of our debut as well, a little rock tune that one was called 'Fabsrocklizzy'. We first played a stripped-down version like this at the night of Fludid's [vocals] wedding, not exactly sober and/or rehearsed, but much to the amusement of the guest. And us. So we decided to share this with you."
THE NEW BLACK's music is being described as "BLACK LABEL SOCIETY inviting the NICKELBACK guy over for some THIN LIZZY covers."
The band's self-titled debut album, was released in Germany in January 2010.
THE NEW BLACK is:
Christof "Leimsen" Leim (Guitar)
Fabian "Fabs" Schwarz (Guitar)
Chris Weiß (Drums)
According to a posting on the KISS fan site KissAsylum.com, late KISS drummer Eric Carr's chrome Chikara drum set is available for purchase at KissMuseum.net. The kit was used primarily during KISS' 1988 "Crazy Nights" tour and was played at the majority of the shows. KissMuseum.net has 18 pieces of the drum set for sale, if you would like to have a chance to own a piece of KISStory.
Eric Carr (real name Paul Charles Caravello) was selected as the new KISS drummer after Peter Criss left the band in 1980. He remained a band member until he became ill with heart cancer and died on November 24, 1991.
According to the Yorkshire Post, a murder investigation was launched today after a man died following an altercation at the O2 Academy concert venue in Leeds, England during a concert by MOTÖRHEAD.
Police said 44 year-old Andrew Crawford, who was manager of a builder's merchant, had been struck on the head several times in the center of Leeds. Two other men, now being hunted by police, were seen running off into nearby Cookridge Street.
Police believe the incident is connected to an earlier altercation during the MOTÖRHEAD concert, in which a friend of Crawford had his hair set alight by someone standing nearby.
