RADIOACTIVE METAL: Butchering The Classics
This episode of RADIOACTIVE METAL Originally aired on PURE ROCK RADIO November 11th, 2010. A long standing interest amidst the Metal genre, and around the RAM offices, is the COVER SONG. It’s always cool to hear a fave tune from the past updated by an fave artist from today. Snowy & Roch go over the fine art, what makes a good cover, and what exactly does or does not make a cover, with regards to songwriting credits. The concept is not without it’s critics though. Tribute or cash in? Hommage or fromage? RAM cranks some excellent examples of quality covers from DESTRUCTION (Metallica), ANTHRAX (SOD), ARCH ENEMY (Carcass), AMORPHIS (Hawkwind), W.A.S.P. (The Who) and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER (Rolling Stones). Horns Up!!
