We laughed, we cried. Musically we fire up some AUTOPSY from yesterday and today and intoduce Greek black metallers DEUS INFESTUS in our INDIE SPOTLIGHT. Squeezed between the masive throng of unsigned “indie” bands and the Chosen Few “superstars” lay the “established” acts. These are the bands that have signed onto a reputable label, are an album or two deep, and are out plying their trade on the national (and international) stage. Unfortunately in today’s musical climate this stage appears to be only a small step up from the “Garage Dayz”. We wanna reward these artists for all their hard work and sacrifices, all in the name of Metal, with the first chapter in an on going series dedicated to these brave soldiers. We crank some SEPTIC FLESH, HAVOK, WHITE WIZZARD, REV. When a group or artist sustains a career of any significant length, their timeline is undoubtedly divided into different “ERAS“. Each of these eras can begin or end in a variety of manners. Most frequently in Metaldom an era change happens for a band with a major line up change or an increase in recognition with the release of a career defining album. It’s hardly an exact science though. Bands that have only been around for a handful of years can go through many eras while some, despite plying their trade for two decades, are arguably still on their first and ultimately only era. We scour some of Metal’s best and brightest including MEGADETH, KISS, SEPULTURA, MORBID ANGEL, and ARCH ENEMY (as well as this very program) and pinpoint the exact moment when it became a whole new ballgame. Musically we crank some multi-era NAPALM DEATH, ANVIL, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and introduce Canada’s STRIKER, a band in their “awesome era”, in our INDIE SPOTLIGHT section. Let’s call this epiosde a “Comedy Of Eras”. Horns Up!!!

The story of the ant & the grasshopper is a children’s tale passed down over generations, designed to teach the value of hard work and preparation for the future. The ant worked hard throughout the day, toiling away for the long, cold winter ahead. But the grasshopper only wanted to play without a care in the world. When the winter came the grasshopper was left out in the cold and the ant had to take him in. RAM has it’s own “ant & grasshopper” story. In our continuing efforts to cover all the Metal bases, ROCH “The Ant” conducted two interviews with METAL JUNKIE TV and up ‘n coming skin pounding extrodinaire and YouTube wonderkid TAMARA TADIC. All the while, SNOWY “The Grasshopper” floundered the daze away at ANVIL, And SEPULTURA concerts. All culminating in this episode, guaranteed to make your ears bleed. Musically we crank some NILE, WITHIN THE RUINS, MORBID ANGEL feat. TAMARA, a “classic” from WARLORD, and introduce some good Canadian boys in UNTIMLEY DEMISE in our INDIE SPOTLIGHT. Lesson learned.
