Hi, I'm Cat! I am the presenter of 'Metal Medicine' radio show (and podcast). I love heavy music! When a song has extreme vocals and the lyrics are meaningful, that will be a song that I will definitely fall in love with.
My favourite bands include Jinger, The Agonist, Bring Me The Horizon, While She Sleeps, Arch Enemy, In Flames, Beartooth, Architects and many more.
I love most genres of music, but I feel like the heavier side of metal is what speaks to me most.
I am also host and creator of a podcast called 'Grab A Cuppa’ which is about anything and everything mental health related.
‘Metal Medicine’ is about supporting heavy music and giving the bands a platform to promote their work.
There are so many amazing up and coming and underground bands that deserve air play, and I am hopeful to at least help a little bit in this tough industry. Made even tougher due to the Covid-19 global pandemic.
Me and Music...
I remember watching a Queen concert on TV and thinking to myself ‘One day, I want to go to a concert like that’, I was 4 years old.
When I was about 7, I used to pretend that my dolls were from a rock band that I was interviewing for this pretend magazine that I used to write, called ‘RokBiz’. Music was never a thing in my family when I was a kid, until we got cable TV and MTV became my thing.
My love for rock music grew and grew by watching bands like Slayer, Iron Maiden and Sepultura. I honestly would spend most of my time watching music videos, while my mates would knock on the door and try to get me to go play outside with them during the summer holidays.
I can honestly say that I am the only ‘metalhead’ in my immediate family and now that I have 2 kids under the age of 10, heavy music is definitely a thing in the family that me and my husband created. My kids are definitely metal heads in training.
