Saskatchewan thrashers UNTIMELY DEMISE to headline SASKATOON SCREAMFEST III

No, you haven’t been the victim of another cruel April Fool’s Day prank. The organizers of Saskatoon Screamfest have officially announced that Untimely Demise will be taking the headlining spot for Saskatoon Screamfest III on October 28th, 2017.

Untimely Demise has been playing their powerhouse style of death/thrash metal to Canadian audiences since 2006, when the band was created by brothers Murray and Matthew Cuthbertson. Turning some heads with their debut EP “Full Speed Metal” (produced by Glen Drover – formerly of Megadeth) in 2009, Untimely Demise followed up their debut with 3 full length studio albums over the years. Most recently they have celebrated their 4th release, the acclaimed album “Black Widow” (2016). Reviewers on, a website and blog spot for the world of metal today, say that ‘Black Widow’ is “… easily their most varied and accessible work to date, finding an impeccable balance between blinding speed, classic heavy metal dynamics, and the searing guitar work of Matt Cutherbertson”.

This will be the first time that Untimely Demise has taken a spot at Saskatoon Screamfest, and the organizers say they are thrilled to have them. “Having a band out like Untimely Demise, who have really struck a chord with listeners all over Saskatchewan and far beyond, is an awesome thing for the event. We couldn’t be happier”!

Untimely Demise’s latest album “Black Widow” is available at and currently in rotation at Pure Rock Radio!

Submissions for Saskatoon Screamfest III are now closed. Tickets are expected to go on sale shortly after the full lineup is announced. The full lineup is expected to be complete just two weeks after the closing of submissions, and will be announced on Monday, April 17th, 2017. Saskatoon Screamfest III is going to hit Louis’ in Saskatoon on October 28th, 2017.
