Since winning the 2014 Wacken Metal Battle Canada and performing at Wacken Open Air (Full Live set below) in their first year of conception, MUTANK has been garnering praise for their straight up in your face energetic moshing sound. 2017 witnessed MUTANK unleash their sophomore EP 'W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.' via Boonsdale Records along with touring across Canada with metal legends ANNIHILATOR and Australia's MASON plus a long list of shows and festivals including supporting ex-VOIVOD Eric Forrest's E-FORCE on select Quebec dates. 'W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.' reached #2 on Canadian College Radio National Loud Charts plus they were named 1 of 8 hidden gems in Canadian metal you need to know by Metal Injection.

MUTANK Full Live set at 2014 Wacken Open Air:

'W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.' is a five track demolisher produced with Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) and follows their debut cassette EP 'M.E.C.H. Metal'. The title of the EP 'W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.' stands for "We Have Alotta Thrash Songs That Have Abbreviated Titles". Vocalist Stephen Reynolds comments: "I just thought it would be funny to force an acronym for ‘what’s that?’ and I came up with ‘We Have Alotta Thrash Songs That Have Abbreviated Titles’. From there we came up with the concept of an EP with a bunch of forced acronym titles. The EP itself was written somewhat conceptually with the individual songs being very short thrash songs that come together to make one longer progressive thrash track, which harkens back to the title since we don’t even know what it is!" 'W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.' is now available for CD order and digital download at the following link: plus all major online retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, etc.
